The story of Guinness begins in 1759 when Arthur Guinness secured a long lease for the St. James's Gate brewery in Dublin. Initially focused on ales, Guinness soon transitioned to a dark brew - a porter in the style popularised in London. However, the key difference was Irish barley. Guinness Original Extra Stout is a carbonated version of Guinness and is based on the original Guinness Stout.
