Jake Hill Nass 2013
Beers, bangers & bails @ Nass Festival 2013.
Nass Festival was a three day binge on a mix of excessive drinking, taking in the British sun, skateboarding in a cattle shed and generally having a rad time alongside strangers, friends and faces I’d looked up to since I was fresh out the womb. The atmosphere created from a sense of skateboarding solidarity, accompanied with live music, skimpy clothing and teenage gurners gave me a complete distortion of reality and routine. I believe it’s always a good thing to temporarily scramble your sensory apparatus and entirely consume yourself in something so outside your comfort zone – that’s what Nass offers.
A general lack of sleep, dehydration, violent trippers and Neanderthal-like drum-N-bass addicts is a small price to pay for what’s gained from a weekend of skateboarding – even if you do go to sleep each night listening to two strangers fuelled by ecstasy talking in-depth about their parents divorce and declaring their new-found love for each other.
Here’s a couple snaps of a particularly hungover version of Jake trying to enduce as much pain on himself as the street course can physically offer.
