Biodiversity Festival

At Prime, we are passionate about the importance of biodiversity in Cattedown, Plymouth, and beyond. We are slowly working to make Prime skatepark a more hospitable place for nature to thrive, and through work from volunteers and our garden club, this is starting to happen. Over the last couple of months, we have seen an influx of butterflies, bees, caterpillars, and insects. Plymouth is set within a backdrop of beautiful countryside, coastlines, and our beloved Dartmoor. Nevertheless, Cattedown itself feels like it is dominated by concrete buildings with little to offer to nature's critters. With our community's support, we hope to create a budding garden space that can contribute to a more biodiverse Cattedown.

The Biodiversity Festival is a celebration of this, aiming to bring our community together to boost biodiversity throughout the city. From 12 to 5, we will be hosting a range of family-friendly activities, including wildflower seed bomb making, creating bee habitats, junk modelling, and plant-based workshops. Expect to go home with a little bag of goodies so you can promote biodiversity from your own home!

Throughout the afternoon and later into the evening, we will be hosting some of Plymouth's brightest new talents from Barbican Theatre ReBels Young Company. Cat Rose will be bringing her beautiful acoustic sound, and Patman will be finishing the night off with a DJ set, bringing in some ragga and jungle vibes that will be sure to get you moving.

The Prime Cafe will be cooking us up some of our newest items from the cafe menu. Featuring our new and improved selection of Hot Dogs, gooey grilled cheese toasties, gold dust chips, and indulgent milkshakes. The bar will be open, serving cold bevvies and bringing in the good vibes all day long. Music from 5 till 9, all is set to be a cracker of a day!
