Prime Skatepark has seen a lot of change since Christmas, the old ramps and obstacles were getting old and tatty but thanks to local funding the park has had a new lease of life starting with the development of a whole new mini ramp / foam pit room and reception relocation.
The 33ft long mini ramp is massive and looks amazing with so many lines being built into hipped sections for transfers in and out of the new roll-in for the foam pit with a small wall ride for the not so daring.
Prime skatepark now has a new manager, overseeing the day to day running of the park, building new obstacles and organising new events and priority nights for mature skaters and supporting the girls’ skate scene. Girls nights run every other Tuesday and old man Monday’s run every every Monday night. Both are only £5 entry (for girls and over 30s) so it’s a good opportunity for new and old (pun intended) to start getting involved in these fantastic sports.
Kids Skate club has seen such high demand it now also runs on a Wednesday after school as well as the normal Saturday morning session – so bring those budding mini shredders down and our on site tutors can teach them the basics of skateboarding.
Coming soon will be a brand new street section combining the established street section and flowing into an all new street section replacing the the old mini ramps. Also on the cards are new packages for private hire sessions making birthday parties more memorable and exclusive skates more fun. There are plans to also develop the outside area with a trampoline, swing ball, basket ball hoop, BBQ and picnic area for relaxing and enjoying the community spirit.
Prime Skatepark has also been lucky enough to be short listed for the Jewson’s Building Better Communities competition. These means we’re competing nationally for a prize fund of up to £50,000…….Now imagine how good the facilities could be with those sort of funds so please click the image below and press vote on the Prime skatepark section of the Jewsons website – its as simple as that.
Primedelux shop will also be relocating in the next week to the skatepark so all your fashion, clothing, footwear and skateboarding needs will soon be all in one place, spares and full set-ups will always be to hand should you need them.
